Frames is a photo library, organizing, and editing app for iPhone and iPad. This
policy explains what the app accesses on your device, the limited diagnostic data it
collects, and the choices you have. Frames is designed to be private by default:
your photos and their contents never leave your device except when you
yourself choose to share or export them.
The short version
Your photos, videos, and everything Frames learns about them (tags, faces,
places, edits) are processed and stored only on your device.
Frames has no user accounts, shows no ads, and
does no advertising or cross-app tracking.
The only information that leaves your device is anonymous crash and
error diagnostics, used solely to find and fix bugs.
Frames does not sell or share your personal information.

Photos and videos
When you grant photo access, Frames reads your photo library so it can scan, tag,
organize, and search your pictures, and so you can edit them. This includes analyzing
image content on your device — for example detecting subjects, scenes, faces, and other
features used for automatic tagging, grouping, and search.
All of this analysis happens on your device. Your photos, videos,
and the tags, face groupings, and other information Frames derives from them are
not uploaded to us or to any third party.
Frames requests permission to add to your photo library so it can save your
edits and tagging changes, and — when you choose “Save as Copy” — write an
edited copy back to your library. These writes go only to your own Photos library.
The tag, face, and search index Frames builds is stored locally on your device and
is removed if you delete the app.
Face grouping is used only within Frames to help you browse and search
your own library. It is not used to identify people to us or anyone else, and the face
data never leaves your device.
Location
Frames uses location in two ways, both optional and both under your control:
Your device location (“While Using the App”) is used to center the
map when you filter or browse your photos by place. It is used on your device and is
not stored by us or sent to us.
The location saved inside your photos (the GPS coordinates a camera
records) is read so Frames can add place tags such as city or region. To turn those
coordinates into place names, Frames uses Apple’s geocoding service, which means the
relevant coordinates are sent to Apple to look up the corresponding place. This is
handled by the operating system under Apple’s privacy policy; the results are stored
on your device and are not sent to us.
Diagnostics we collect (crash and error reports)
To keep Frames stable, the app collects crash reports, error reports, and
app-freeze (“hang”) diagnostics using Sentry, a third-party
diagnostics service. When the app crashes, errors, or freezes, a report may be sent that
typically includes:
the type of crash/error and a technical stack trace,
your device model and iOS version, and the Frames app version,
general technical state at the time of the problem.
This diagnostic data is used only to diagnose and fix bugs and improve the
app’s stability. It is not used to advertise to you or to track you across apps
or websites, it is not linked to your identity, and it is not sold. Frames does not enable
Sentry’s performance-tracing or profiling features. Sentry processes this data on our
behalf; see Sentry’s privacy policy at
sentry.io/privacy.
What Frames does not do
No user accounts or sign-in, and no collection of your name, email, or contacts.
No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
No cross-app or cross-site tracking, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt because
Frames does not track you.
No third-party analytics or marketing SDKs.
No selling or sharing of your personal information.
Where your data is stored
Your photos remain in your iOS Photos library. The information Frames derives from them
(tags, face groupings, place tags, search index) and your app settings are stored locally
on your device using standard iOS storage. Deleting the app removes Frames’ local index
and settings. Crash/error diagnostics are retained by Sentry for a limited period under
Sentry’s standard retention and then deleted.
Third-party services
Apple — the Photos library, Maps, and geocoding are provided by
Apple and governed by
Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Your choices
You can grant, limit, or revoke Frames’ access to your Photos and
Location at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security
(or Settings → Frames). Limiting access may reduce some features.
Because diagnostics are core to keeping the app working and contain no personal
identifiers, they are part of using the app; if you prefer not to send them, you can
stop using Frames.
Children
Frames is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information
from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here
with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of Frames after an update means you accept
the revised policy.
